　　在《速度與激情》系列電影的主力演員保羅·沃克意外去世后，電影制作方希望通過制作一首歌曲以紀念和緬懷保羅[2] 。作為該歌曲制作人之一的查理·普斯在2014年7月寫了一段基本的歌詞，并將歌名取為《See You Again》，創(chuàng)作過程僅用時十分鐘。之后在多次改動下，才有了正式版本的誕生。

　　在創(chuàng)作這首歌時，查理·普斯說他自己也有一位朋友突然去世，于是寫下了這首聞者落淚的歌曲。而歌曲說唱部分則是由維茲·卡利法本人寫的。在接受采訪時，當記者問他為什么這首歌取得如此大成功時，維茲說這首歌雖然是為保羅·沃克創(chuàng)作的，但卻深深打動了許多人，讓他們不會僅停留在緬懷保羅·沃克的層面上。
